This is a front cover from The Rolling Stone magazine and features Rihanna. Even though you can’t see the masthead it is such a known brand of music magazine that the majority of people either know what they are looking at or consistently buy the magazine because they know what to expect. The Rolling Stone font is very well known and is usually the bright red colour that it is on this front cover. This bright red works with the colour of Rihanna’s hair and the blurred pictures of the trees. This light green colour for the background also works well with the bold black font for the sweet spot. Many well-known people are named on this magazine such as ‘Britney Spears’ and ‘Ricky Gervais’ which encourages the target audience to buy it. I think this magazine is aimed at teenagers. The block writing saying ‘Rihanna strikes back’ is what the publisher is hoping will sell the magazine, making customers wonder what has happened to her and buying to get an insight to her personal life. By RollingStone magazine using Rihanna has the main mid shot on the front this would attract audiences that wouldn't usually pick up the magazine. The image is appealing to all types of audience both male and female.
