Flat plans

Double page
This is a draft for my double page that i drew up on a piece of paper. I followed conventions on this by making sure i put the logo in the left hand side which is where throughout my blog i have placed it. From my research below this is what i concluded on how the layout of my double page spread page would look.

Contents
For my contents page i also made a flat plan, showing how i would set it out and which order everything would go in. From the examples of other well known music magazines i came up with this for my final idea. I planned it on paper so i could keep referring it to mine whilst making it on Photoshop.

Front cover
This is the plan for my front cover i made before i started to make it. I put in the barcode, price and other things i knew would be essential for the music magazine.

After taking my photos i looked online at different music magazines for ideas on the layout of my final piece.

These are a few of my photos i took for the music magazine. I decided not to have instruments in these because as you can see above none of the well known music magazine have instruments. I took these with a canon dslr.

Name ideas for my magazine-
  • MUSE
  • UPDATES
  • BEATS
  • IMIX
  • RHYTHM
  • IU- INDUSTRY UPDATES
  • MIU- MUSIC INDUSTRY UPDATES
I decided to chose MIU (Music Industry updates) as the name for my music magazine. Once i had made my final decision i then tested out some different fonts and colours that i thought would look good.

This is my Questionnaire analysis which helped me decide the following-
  • To aim my magazine at both male and female
  • 17-21 Target audience
  • For the magazine to be sold every two weeks
  • POP/INDIE genre of music
  • Red, Black and White to be the main colours on my magazine
  • A free poster would increase sales
  • To charge approximately £1-£2
